What can I wear to my first formal dance???? 10 pts plz answer!!!?

There is this dance in summer time (in june) and I don't know what to wear!!! BTW I'm 14. Also I have very dark brown eyes, a kinda pale complexion with olive-ish undertones and my hair is also a dark brown, just like my eyes, but it has a lot of golden highlights towards the ends (completely natural) and kinda wavy but curlier towards the ends. My body is kinda hourglass (5'5 and weigh 114 Ibs), but I have a tiny bit of tummy pooch, but NOTHING like a beer belly but I'm a bit self concious about that, and people usually say my legs are just like a model's (don't agree with 'em, it's just what they say). I hope this is enough information. What do you think?? Like, should the dress be long or short, or what colours can it be and should I wear heels or is this too much etc. What about make up? I guess I shouldn't go too heavy on it, eh?

oooh! this is totally my question!! lol, ok, you sound like a younger different version of me!!! lol, im part italian, so i have brown/dirty blond/redish hair... with olive colored skin, probably a little darker tho... :b

and my eyes are dark chocolate colored....

except im 16... lol

but i have had alot of experience in choosing formal dresses for dances, so here goes!!!

first, you want to wear something kindof bright and full of color since you have dark eyes and mostly dark hair....

if you want to wear your har down, then wear a strappless dress.

if you want it up, wear one that ties around your neck... like this: (except probably not that color)...

http://www1.macys.com/catalog/product/in... and if you want it kinda half up, half down, that kind of style, then wear one with regular or spaghetti straps.

DONT WORRY about your little tummy pooch! a lot of guys like that!!! plus, its not a big deal, most people do have one :)

Now, the length.... well, it depends. you could wear either one. but since you have nice legs, i would reccomend you wear a short dress :)

BUT! if its a winter formal, then you want to wear a long dress!!! so, if it is, then wear a long dress with a slit....

kinda like this... http://www.amazon.com/Caviar-Satin-Halte...

here comes the color!!! i think aqua looks the best on people with your complection and features... like this...

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000WE9LJ0/ref=...

or a darker color pink... like this:

or even yellow! bright colors!!! trust me!!

makeup! buy an eyeliner to match the dress and put it on your eyelid like this... http://www.beautynewsletter.gq.nu/articl...

and use mascara. lip gloss, a clear kind... and concealer IF NEEDED!!! if you have a clear face, DONT USE IT!

i really hope this helps!!! if you have ANY questions AT ALL! just email me!! i would looovvvve to help!!! have fun!!!

my email is nerdzrhott2@yahoo.com! email me and tell me how it goes!!! good luck!!! :)

You have alot of time between now and then to shop! WHAT FUN!!!

For summer, I personally prefer a mid-length style. With you being 5'5", you could easily get away with a shorter style. I wouldn't go for full-length formal because you are only 14 and it would be like -- over the edge.

Dark hair and eyes are a blessing. You could probably wear about any color. Red is always popular, as is black. Once again, because of your age, I'd try to find something more fun...glittery, shimmery type thing.

It's going to be summer, so backless or halter styles are nice. You could always dress it up with a boa if you are the type that can pull off feathers (not everyone can -- you have to experiment and see if it works for you).

Because you are 5'5", you could pull off heels, but I'd avoid stiletto heels because they take practice to walk in and can be clumsy (and dangerous) until you have experience with them. Wedges are popular now, and they are extremely easy to walk in.

Don't forget your accessories. Necklace, earrings, ankle bracelet, and dress those arms up, too.

Take time with you make-up. Don't over-do it....some girls go crazy with the black eye liner and mascara and it looks crappy although they think it looks good.

And your hair. Decide after you get the dress what style you want to pull off. You may want an up-sweep style if you want to show off the back of the dress and your neckline (particularly if you have one of those gorgeous long necks).

Have fun shopping and have even more fun at your first formal dance!
