I live in Australia and I had hair extensions put in while I was in Bangkok. Hence I am unable to ring the salon and ask them when I should get them out etc.
When they were put in it was done with hot black glue. The hair was asian and was coloured to match my dark-brown colour. As they were glued they were done about a centimetre from the root but the hair has grown now.
I've had them in for exactly 2 months. I'm not sure how long they're meant to ask. 2 hair extensions have fallen out but it hasn't made a noticible difference. i havent been losing much of my natural hair or anything, the only thing is my hair has become terribly matted around where the glue is. this is only noticible when the hair is out and a bump sticks out... its weird.
How much longer should I keep them in for?
I have a school formal (prom) on the 14th of March. Should I keep them in until then?
Any care tips?
Can I get my hair styled for the formal at a hairdresser / who can remove them?
:)
My hair extensions are causing problems? Does anyone know anything about the glue-in kind?
i've had glue-in extensions before, but i did them myself.
they do fall out. especially after the shower i would notice they were really loose each day. i just re-glued them in myself though.
your hair does get really matted around them though. when you take them out it will be hell getting the glue out of your hair, just to warn you. they sell this oil stuff for it, but it's still like getting rubber out of your hair, and then your hair is really greasy and it takes like 5 showers to get it out, and you'll still be picking the glue out for days later.
you're not supposed to keep any kind of extensions in longer than a couple months at the most. it damages your hair to leave it in any longer than that, i guess because it's pulling on your real hair. i would get them taken out soon, before the dance if possible. if you really want to have extensions for the dance, just buy some new ones or get them put in professionally again. or my advice would be to get clip-in ones. that's what i use now, and they're like little miracles. :)
call around to hair salons and ask how much they'll charge to take them out. you could also buy the hair oil i was telling you about, and get them out yourself. i'm not sure if they have sally's in australia, but that's where you can buy it, along with the clip-in extensions i suggest you get, or even the kind you glue in if you really want to do that again. it's much cheaper, and not very hard to do.

well first dont ever put glue in weave in your hair again cause that will break off your hair andmess it up bad. the only way you could get it out is by cutting it and try not to cut your real hair.
hair care tips:
dont over work your hair with heat cause that would break it off more.....dont put alot of products in it, keep it simple. use hair moisturizer,etc...

I think you need to go see a hair stylist. They can take them out easily.

You should probably take them out now- most glue in extensions are meant to stay in for about 6 weeks- 8 max. In order to get the matted knots out you need to buy a very fine tooth comb (like the kind you get in a box of rid for head lice)- After you take out the extensions wash you hair and slather (and i do mean slather) it with good conditoner...try paul mitchell or redkin brands- wrap it up in a hot damp towel and let it set for about 20 minutes. Then use the fine tooth comb and go through every chunk of hair- section by section. After you get all the knots and mats out (which will take a while) re wash and conditoner your hair. Treat it with some kind of smoother such as biosilk and lay off blow drying and straightening for a week or so.
Hope this helps and have fun at your dance!

Go to a hairdresser. If you try to deal with glue in extensions on your own, the result may not be pretty. I'm not sure if you want to keep the extensions or get rid of them, I don't know what you're asking but I've seen bad results when girls try to adjust their extensions themselves, you might lose a lot of hair :/
