I have another quarter of a school year to go before the graduation ceremony (eighth grade graduation onto high school), but I might get my gown in-advance. From associates within the school I've overheard that fancy, formal gowns and dresses are worn, but I'd like to hear what those who have gone through a middle school graduation ceremony wore to theirs!

In the meantime, what color should I base my dress/gown upon? (A color BESIDES pink, please, I have a severe phobia condition.) I am Chinese, bespectacled, black hair, dark brown eyes, yellow-brown skin.

What a cute question. I'd say nothing too formal. A nice spring dress would be cute. Or a skirt and cute top. Um..you are chinese..well how about blue. Blue would look nice on you. I'd also say red but I don't know if many spring dresses come in red. Purple would be nice too...or teal! I'm almost 19, so I can say, have fun, but it's no big deal, highschool is a bit hard too, just have fun.

for my graduation. ima sophomore in highschool now. but i wore a cocktail dress kinda evening dress. basically whatver you feel comfy in. mine was a strapless skyblue color with a black bowat my waist and it was knee length. some of my friends wore more formal things like long floor length ones. ask some of your friends what they're doing.

Kids in our school don't wear formal dresses to graduation.

Graduation is usually outside so it is often very hot and the gowns weigh a ton. Comfort is paramount.

Wear a light colored, sleeveless dress. Wear cotton because it lets you breathe. Linen really wrinkles.

White, a light beige, or pale yellow would be pretty.
